Footwear in Orthopaedics
Your feet carry an enormous amount of strain over a lifespan.
What is Therapeutic Footwear?
Shoe modification and orthoses are used frequently for the treatment and prevention of orthopaedic conditions, including arthritis, soft tissue conditions like plantar fasciitis and overuse injuries. Orthoses may also be used to protect areas of the foot from developing skin injuries and ulcers.
Therapeutic footwear can be part of a multifaceted treatment regime, or the mainstay of conservative treatment.
