Investigations | What tests are used to diagnose a hip fracture?

Xray
An X-ray usually will confirm that you have a fracture and show exactly what part of your hip is fractured and how severe it is.
CT scan or MRI
If your X-ray doesn't show a fracture but you still have hip pain, aCT or MRI scan may be ordered to look for a small hairline fracture.
